Summer
Term 2008 - Ash class news
Ash class has come back after the Easter break fully refreshed
and ready for their last term as either a Year 1 or a Reception
child. All are excited about the nice weather we have been having
which has allowed us to go outside to work and play in our special
Ash class play area.
The children enjoyed a very exciting term especially with the
gingerbread man running away. He still hasn't returned but he
does keep sending us postcards from all his travels and we study
the country he is in. He was last seen in Australia where they
eat very tasty lamingtons!
Last term
concluded with a visit to the local farm to see the lambs, calves
and puppies. The children thoroughly enjoyed this visit and
made a fantastic book abut their trip. Unfortunately we were
not allowed to take any of the puppies back to school with us!
Spring
Term 2008 - Ash class news
The children
of Ash class have come back after their Christmas holidays keen
and excited about the new term. All the children are enjoying
their daily phonics lessons and all are reading regularly at
home and excited by their new books. We have had many exciting
times in Ash class with Wet Welly Wednesdays, exploring High
Ham's local park in our Geography lesson and of course our Numeracy
and Literacy lessons. However our most exciting time was making
Gingerbread men and one running away!! Mrs Will's chased after
him through the maze but he ran so fast we couldn't catch him.
The Year 1's made Missing posters but all we have received are
postcards from Burnham-on-Sea, London, Leicester and Wales.
I wonder where he could be now
?
Autumn Term
2007 - Ash class news
We have
had a busy few weeks in Ash class with the reception children
just starting whole days after spending 3 weeks attending mornings
only, to familiarise themselves with the new routines of the
school day. We have all worked hard adjusting to school and
we have managed to get 3 patches on Elmer to celebrate our achievements.
The children are already thinking about what treat they are
going to choose when they get 10 patches!
We are
all very excited about the coming year together and the Year
1's have been working hard acting out stories and writing about
their work. We have already started exploring our topic of changes
and are very much looking forward to baking cakes, making toast
and creating our favourite sandwiches.
