Summer
Term
The summer term is a very busy one but an enjoyable one. We
are looking forward to making more of our outside teaching space
as the weather improves.
Our Science topic, Plants and Animals, and our Art topic, exploring
patterns in nature will get the children into our fantastic
school grounds.
Although
there are many weeks to go before the end of term, excitement
about our whole school end of year trip, is already beginning
to build.
Spring
Term
We have had a busy start to 2008.
At the beginning of term we completed our History topic on the
Great Fire of London. The written and art work which was completed
for this reflected the enthusiasm and interest in the topic.
Our Geography
and Design and Technology topics for this term are based on
the Playing Field in High Ham.
The children went there to collect information. They will be
thinking about how we could improve the site and designing and
making their own models of play equipment, they would like to
see there.
Autumn
Term
It
has been a really busy start to the term and Cedar Class have
all seemed to settle into their new class well. It has been
really good to hear so many nice comments about our lovely eco
classroom.
At the
start of term we spent time thinking about what we need to do
to make our class a happy place to learn. From all the children's
ideas we wrote a Class Charter which is on display on our Rainbow
Fish display.
The deck
area is proving to be very useful. It is a good space for groups
to work in, weather permitting and also for structured play
activities for the Year 1's. They are very much enjoying our
new sand pit.
