Lego Robotics

Year 6 following a training day with Wessex Setpoint learnt how to program a small lego robot using the Lego Mindstorms programme. They entered the First Lego League competition and were given 10 weeks to build and programme their robot to complete a series of challenges around the theme of Ocean Odyssey. As well as completing the lego part of the challenge the team had to come up with a presentation about the challenges facing the worlds oceans. After many hours of work (after school and during lunch times) the team set off to Bath University to complete the challenges. It was a fantastic day and we were extremely pleased and proud when we were presented with the Directors Award and asked to represent the South West in the National Finals held at Loughborough. The team competed well at the finals and although they did not progress to the International Finals in America came away having had a superb time.
